The story
On a glowing November evening in Mexico, the child and Grandpa lovingly decorate the tiered ofrenda altar with bright orange cempasúchil marigold petals, colorful punched papel picado banners, sweet sugar calaveritas, and photographs of great-grandparents. As sweet copal incense drifts through the warm patio, the child learns that remembering departed ancestors with laughter and songs keeps love alive forever.
