One year older, one wish bigger, and a cake that does not go to plan.

The story
It is the child's birthday, and the day is a parade of small ceremonies: the banner that will not stay up, the friends arriving two at a time, the cake that leans a little to the left. When the candles are lit, everyone stops to look at them — and the child realises the wish they have been saving all week is not for themselves at all. If it is a first birthday, a grown-up holds the baby up to see the candles and makes the wish with them.

What if I do not like a page?
