The story
The family is moving house, and the child has an important job: packing their own special box of favourite things. In go a blanket, a torch, a snow globe and a jar of shiny pebbles. Before leaving, they walk through the old room and say goodbye to every corner, feeling a little sad and a little excited, and both feelings are okay. The big moving van rumbles off with everything inside. The new room is empty and echoey at first. Then the child unpacks their box, a grown-up hangs the curtains, and they tape their own drawing of the family on the wall. When a friendly child from next door waves over the fence, the new house starts to feel like theirs. That night, snug under their own blanket, the child knows: home is wherever our family is.
