The story
At the front door, a loved grown-up kneels for a long goodbye hug. They have to be far away for a while, so they give the child one half of a little wooden heart and keep the other half for themselves. At first the house feels too quiet, and missing them feels big and heavy. A grown-up at home says missing someone is a sign of love, and it is okay to feel it. So they make rituals. Every night the child looks up at the moon, knowing the far-away grown-up is looking at the very same one. They share their days on video calls: a new painting, a wobbly dance, a snail on the window. Each morning a shiny star goes on the calendar, and the stars creep closer to the big red heart. At last the day comes: the door flies open, there is the biggest hug of all, and the two halves of the wooden heart click together.

You can write a story in English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Português, العربية, עברית, हिन्दी, 中文, 日本語, 한국어, and Русский. You choose the story's language when you create it, and it does not have to match the language you use zeStory in.
