The story
On a sunny morning at the beach, a sparkling wave curls around the child's ankles and whispers a secret: now they can breathe underwater. Down they swim, bubbles tickling their nose, until a wise old sea turtle with a moss-green shell offers to be their guide. Far below lies a kingdom of coral towers, where seahorses pull shell carriages and little fish glow like lanterns. But the kingdom is dim and worried: the great glowing pearl that lights the reef has rolled away, and lost nets and litter have tangled the coral gardens. The child and the turtle follow a trail of tiny lights to a sleepy clam's cave and find the pearl. Then everyone helps tidy the reef, and the whole kingdom shines again. Back on the sand, the child holds a pearly shell to their ear, and it still sings of the sea.
