The story
Hello, little one! The book opens on the family's very first cuddle: a tiny hand curled round a big finger, a soft knitted blanket, and everyone whispering hello. Then the whole world takes a turn. The sun peeps through the curtains: hello! The garden nods its daisies and a bumblebee hums: hello! The family's gentle old dog pads over, sniffs a tiny sock and wags: hello! Grandparents close by bring a cuddle, and grandparents far away blow kisses on a video call: hello, hello! At dusk the little one grows fussy, so everyone hushes, the lamp glows low, and the moon peeks in at the window to say hello too. It ends with a soft lullaby: you are loved, little one, goodnight. Very short, rhythmic lines with a repeating “Hello, little one”, made to be read aloud to a baby.
